PhD Studentship in Inorganic Chemistry, University of Bonn

The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Bonn (research group of Prof. Dr. A.C. Filippou) seeks candidates for Ph.D. student positions. The positions are one year initial appointments with the possibility of contract extension of up to 4 years. The salary follows the german law for public institutions and is according to the standard rate TV-L E13/2.

The group of Prof. Filippou is engaged in molecular transition metal and main group chemistry, in organometallic chemistry and in catalysis.

The topics of the Ph.D. thesis projects are:

    * Dinitrogen activation at electron-rich metal centers
    * Triple bonds of transition metals with the elements C-Pb
    * Metal-centered C-C coupling reactions of electron-rich alkynes

Required qualifications are: diploma or master degree above average with strong interest in synthetic inorganic or organometallic chemistry (a graduate degree in inorganic molecular chemistry is preferred), good background in common analytical and spectroscopic methods, fluent English or German, good interpersonal communication skills, and interest to teach and work with students.
